Elma Muharemović

At the age of eleven, she started playing basketball in her hometown of Feldkirchen with the Feldkirchner Tigers, where she played until she was 14. Since there were no girls’ teams at the time, she played alongside boys, which helped her develop confidence, improve her skills, and gain valuable experience.

During this time, she also had the opportunity to play for BBC Wolfsberg as a second club in the WU14 ÖMS as well as in the WU15 “League without Borders”. In the WU16, she played for the WSG Radenthein Garnets until the season was interrupted by COVID.

At the age of 15, she joined KOS Celovec after the COVID period and played there in the BDSL until she was 18. One of the highlights for her was competing internationally in the “League without Borders” and the “Extra Liga”, where teams from Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, and Bosnia competed against each other. These experiences allowed her to gain new perspectives and valuable international experience.

After graduating from high school, she moved to Graz to pursue her studies and joined UBSC DBBC Graz, where she still plays today. In her final WU19 season, the team became Austrian runners up and Styrian champions. She also gained further experience playing in the BDSL and has continued competing at this level ever since.

Alongside basketball, she studies Mathematics and Chemistry to become a teacher and works as a tutor. Sport plays an important role in her everyday life, and she also enjoys staying active in her free time.
